Management Trainee jobs
"Most of the big 5 star chains will have a listing on their Corporate site if they are recruiting Management Trainees."
How do you find Management Trainee jobs with all those 5 star hotel chains? Where are they hidden? Here are a few pointers on how to find them:
1. If you're currently enrolled at a Hospitality & Tourism college, make sure you know when recruiters are coming to the college to do presentations or do mass interviews. You may not want to work for the hotel chain that's coming in, but I tell you - try to attend the presentation or do the interview anyways because you never know what you'll learn. Anyways, if you didn't want to work for them to begin with - you won't be too nervous during the interview. It'll be good practice for when you need to do an interview for a company you REALLY want to work for.
2. Visit the websites of the hotel chains you're interested in working for. Most of the big 5 star chains will have a listing on their Corporate site if they are recruiting Management Trainees (for example - Starwoodhotels.com instead of just checking the website of the Sheraton Wall Centre) - sometimes they list how to get submit an application, where they'll be doing a mass interview, where they're going to visit, what new properties they are planning to open up. All very valuable information that could connect you with the dream management training job.
3. Although this may not come up with anything - have a look at the websites that always list hospitality & tourism jobs for the big 5 star hotel chains. These sites are more likely to be notified by the big chains that they're looking for Management trainees. But to be frank - this really seldom happens. Management Training jobs are almost never advertised - so if you really want one and you haven't seen anything after going through point 1, 2 above or this one - then I recommend trying my next point.
4. Call the Human Resource departments of the 5 star hotels you are hoping to work for. I know that calling them can be nerve-racking but really - this may be the best way to find these 'hidden' Management training jobs. Just politely ask the human resources department (don't ask the Operator, they won't know and if they think you're going to bug the HR dept, they might not transfer your call - make sure you ask the Operator for the Human Resources Dept. first then when someone answers there - ask THEM.
Hope my suggestions help - good luck!
